Quiet Weekend

Daddy went hunting again this weekend(thankfully its over now) so Whit and I spent a lot of time together just hanging out! We ate with Cookie, Doc, Mamaw and Dede (whit's great- grandparents)Friday night. Saturday morning we headed to Cracker Barrel with Cookie and Doc too! Saturday night we ate with Deedee since Jimbo was at the farm too! We had a good weekend. The weather was beautiful so we enjoyed being outside!

Park Fun!

Yesterday was such a beautiful day! It gave me spring fever bad but I love seasons so i kinda want it to be cold again. After a great run whit and i went to the park. He enjoyed himself very much!



14 Months

I am getting behind on my monthly posts! I forgot to take an elephant picture last month so I have to get one for this month! I tried last night and failed so i will try again! 14 months is here. I feel like this month just kinda went by and I am not really sure what went on! But let me see if I can try and remember what all happened this month. The beginning of the month was a little rough bc he had a chest cold. I have asthma so i am very aware of wheezing so when he started wheezing we headed to get a breathing machine. It helped so much and we have it if he ever gets sick again. He is starting to really know what he wants and doesn't want now. I am not sure if it is a good or a bad thing bc it makes for some battles. He has certainly developed some whiney tendencies when he does not get what he wants. He is a happy child most of the time so when he is whiney it has not been easy as this is not his normal personality.
Eating is still a major issue for us. He is just so picky and I am sick of baby food! I refuse to buy any more after we run out this time. But he really does not eat much at all. I try different things but I cannot get him to eat it or most of the time even put it in his mouth. He will still only eat applesauce, yogurt, mandrin oranges, pear and apple cubes, and spaghetti. At school they offer him the lunch and on his sheet sometimes it will say he ate chicken or mashed potatoes or peas but I cannot get him to eat anything. He loves the pizza at school but he will not eat it if I make it. Thankfully he still loves his milk and drinks a ton! Lately he has also been on a hummus kick which i am good with!
I shouldn't complain about our lack of eating bc he is still a big boy and I think weighs around 25 lbs. He still has a round belly and cheeks so he is not starving. He wears 18 month clothes but some are getting a little small so between 18-24 probably. He wears a size 5 shoe and loves his red keds the best!
He is very into books again and wants to sit in your lap so you can read but is done after one page. I still love it bc he is actually wanting to sit with you! He also loves pictures. He goes to the tables in our house and "talks" to the picture frames and carries them around. He talks a lot but I can rarely tell what he is talking about. I think the word he can say best is hello and he does that walking around with a phone to his ear. He also says Elmo when he sees the Elmo book. All other words no matter what they are start with the "g" sound.
We have had a lot of trouble with sleep this month too. This mommy is worn out. I have tried everything I know to do when he wakes up in the middle of the night but nothing is working. I am praying this stage is quickly exiting! 
Thats about all I can think of for now for this month!

We had to get Elmo pjs since its one word he can say. He just smiles when he sees them



Cooking Class

For Christmas we gave mom a trip to Greenwood, MS to visit the Viking Cooking School. We decided it would be fun for all of us to be able to go so thanks to dad we were all able to take part in the fun! Unfortunately HK decided she didn't want her mommy to leave her so she got sick and had to go to the hospital. We were so sad and disappointed Courtney couldn't make it but we have already decided we HAVE to do it again! Aunt Sharon came with us so it worked out just fine! So we made our way to Greenwood on Saturday and our first stop was the Delta Bistro. It was soo yummy. It so funny bc seriously there is nothing in Greenwood but they have this great bistro with a James Beard nominee chef! The bread pudding we had for desert was absolutely divine! Then we just wandered around checking everything out. There is not much to see and if Viking were not there I am not sure what would happen to this town. The Alluvian Hotel is owned by Viking as well and it is beautiful. Unfortunately they only have 50 rooms and it was booked so we did not get to stay. Apparently since the movie The Help was filmed in Greenwood it has not slowed down any. So we started our cooking class at 5 pm. Our menu was Southern Foods from the movie The Help. We were so excited! The class was fantastic! We cooked greens, mac n cheese, fried chicken, biscuits and corn bread. They already had cooked deviled eggs, caramel cake and Minnies chocolate pie but we got the recipes. After we cooked everything we sat down to eat all this yummy food! It was so much fun and I am looking forward to trying my recipes again!!

Fun

Grandparents are so fun and Whit is so lucky to have all 4 grandparents in the same town! He knows them all and gets excited when we talk about seeing them. Whit spent some time this weekend with all 4 grandparents so it was a good weekend. Deedee and Jimbo were sweet to keep Whit Saturday so I could do some errands. They also came to keep him last night while Nate and I went to core group. I am so thankful for them bc they are always willing to come play with Whit when we need them too and they never complain! Of course Deedee is way more fun than mommy so dinner was a blast!



Happy New Year!

We were so lucky to be able to spend the last week at the beach with my family. It is such a great time of year to go. It amazes me how many people are at the beach this time of year! We stayed in Watercolor this year and it was perfect. Probably my new favorite place to stay! Literally 2 blocks from our aunt and uncles house in Seaside so we had a great time with family! Whit wanted to be outside the entire time. He was not happy unless he was walking around. The weather was in the 70's during the day so it was perfect! Here are a few pictures.
