Christmas

We had a great Christmas! It is always so fun to spend time with family just hanging out. To begin the holiday weekend Nate and I took Whit to Zoolight(thank you Deedee and Jimbo for our zoo pass!) He loved it! He was so entertained. he loved the lights and the petting zoo the best. It will be a tradition I am sure. Saturday we went to Christmas Eve Service then spent the night, as always, at my parents. Christmas morning was fun with Whit! He just toddled around checking everything out. He was very content just wandering around with new toys. His favorite toys were probably the wooden push toy from Aunt Mae Mae and Kitty, his new red keds and the kitchen that stays at Cookie and Docs house! Here are a few pictures. I will try and get more up later!

13 Months

This has been a great month! Whit turned 13 months yesterday!
All of a sudden Whit started just chatting away. Who knows what he is saying but he is telling us something. I feel like he has just turned a big corner this month. He is walking, talking and eating a little better!
Eating wise we have gotten him to eat spaghetti! So every night this is usually what he eats. I just feel like its a little more balanced for some reason with spaghetti, a cheese stick and a fruit. Of course we still love our baby food but I am praying this is a step in the right direction! He LOVES milk. He probably drinks 4 big sippy cups a day. Still snacks on cheerios and yogurt.
His sleeping habits remain the same. Still about a 45 min nap in the morning and afternoon. Sometimes at school he takes 3 naps a day. He goes down at 7 but has been waking up some at night. I kinda think its his ears killing him. Hopefully the tubes will help!
He wears 18 month clothes. Some 24 month pajamas.
He is just a happy baby right now. Since he can walk he thinks he is so big and is so proud of himself. He gets to go on the playground at school now that he can walk and his teachers say he is loving it! They said he loves the cars and is in his own world out there. He likes to play in the kitchen too. He enjoys stirring in the pot, playing with the mixer and getting into the cabinets. He still loves books. Only certain ones though. His favorites are Goodnight Moon, Where's Spot, the book about God's Animals, sometimes the Christmas story and The Night Before Christmas.
What a fun month this has been!!!

I forgot to take the elephant picture yesterday so here is a picture in the meantime....

Tubes

We have been fighting ear infections since September. The one he has now has been going on for a month straight and none of the antibiotics have been able to knock it out. So it was time for tubes. Yesterday we went to Childrens at 6 am for the procedure. It was so quick and so easy. Whit did great. He was only a little fussy for 10 min when he got back to mommy. He was his normal self by 9am eating a full breakfast and 2 cups of milk! I am praying this will make him feel better and hopefully will solve the waking up at night problem we have had for the past month!

Long week

Man we have had a long week at our house! Saturday night Whit woke up with the stomach bug. It was awful! Laundry going at midnight and 4 pairs of pajamas! Thankfully Sunday we were on the mend or so we thought! Monday Whit went to school. His teachers said there had been some bug going around so watch out. I told them we had already had it :) But then beginning Monday the bug continued with plenty of dirty diapers. Continued on Tuesday but since all the kids had it they didnt make us come get Whit. Then Tuesday night I woke up with the stomach bug. UGH! Wednesday I somehow managed to get Whit to school. Nate calls on his way to work saying he is sick too! So all day Wednesday Nate and I were home sick. About 3:30 the school calls and says that I have to come get Whit bc he is still sick. So now all 3 of us are home sick! Thankfully yesterday I felt better. Whit had to stay home bc he still is sick. Nate went to work feeling better too. I think we are all on our way to feeling much better finally! This has been such a long week!

Thanksgiving!

We had such great weekend! It started out Wednesday night with my whole family at my parents house. It is always so much fun to get together with all the girls (there are 7 granddaughters on that side) We all get along great and its so fun! I do not have any pictures from that night though :(
Thursday morning we got up and drove to the farm. It was so fun. The gathering with Nates family down there is great. We stayed all weekend and just enjoyed being outside. Whit thinks that the farm is the greatest place ever. He pushed his toy ALL OVER the yard. Seriously I wish we had a pedometer on him bc he walked and walked and walked. He wanted to be outside the whole time. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving

I think the older I get the more I love holidays! I cannot wait to enjoy Thanksgiving tonight with my whole family and join Nate's family tomorrow at the farm. We are so blessed! I am thankful for my Whit and my husband who loves me no matter what. I am thankful for our families who would do anything for us. I am thankful for my friends who are there for me when I need them. There are so many things in my life I am thankful for but most of all I am thankful for the Lord who has given me all these things to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving from the Andersons!

So thankful for these two!!

12 months

I can't believe its finally here! A year has passed and what a wonderful year it has been. What did we do without our little man. He brings more laughter and joy to our home than I ever thought was possible. His personality is all his and I love it. He is shy and reserved. He wants to figure things out but contemplates before he does something. He laughs and smiles a lot at home. He doesn't talk a whole lot but is starting to more. He is not a fan of strangers and holds on tight when we meet an unfamiliar face. My heart melts when his squinty blue eyes look at me and smile. He looks like his daddy and that brings a smile to my face. He is exactly who the Lord knew he would be and for that I am thankful. Please remind me of that in the coming years when there will be moments when he could be the end of me!
At 12 months we are wearing 18 month clothes. He is built thick and solid just like Nate. He sleeps great at night still. 2 naps a day but they are still short. Whit, you are not a napper! He still loves to push everything. He is getting stronger and walks behind things with more balance but still not walking on his own. He LOVES books. His favorites are Where's Spot and Where's Babys Belly Button.  He really just likes any book that he can lift flaps on or feel something. He loves walking up and down the sidewalk outside pushing his toy. He does not like when you turn him around to go back home. He loves the wagon still and doing anything outside. He hates being changed, getting in his car seat, putting on his shoes and coming back in from outside.
As far as food goes we are still struggling. He will only eat bananas, pears, apple cubes, mandrin oranges, apple sauce and sometimes cheese. I still have to give him baby food vegetables just to get something else in him. For breakfast we still mix oatmeal with a baby food fruit. I tried to give him real oatmeal and he threw it up. He will not try new foods no matter how hard we try. He is very stubborn about food and has a melt down if you make him eat something he does not want. I am praying we will get past this stage. He does not like sippy cups and we are still struggling with that too. I have every kind possible and he just does not like it. So we still drink 3 bottles of whole milk a day.
Happy Birthday Whit! I cannot believe you are one but I am thankful for every day of your life. You are a blessing and a joy to raise. I pray you will grow into a godly man daily and that you will come to know the Lord at a young age. We love you so much!!

First Birthday Party!

We had Whits first birthday party yesterday! His real birthday is tomorrow but we are always going to battle Thanksgiving so we will have it before probably every year. Whit was not feeling 100% yesterday but he did pretty good considering he does not love to be around lots of people. Thankfully we had plenty of grandparents to entertain him. I cannot believe he is one! We love him so much and we are blessed to be surrounded by people who love him too. Thank you for coming to Whits party!

Great Grandmothers

Not a fan of the hat

He only touched the cake.... wanted nothing to do with the cake.

So thankful for these two- Whit LOVES cookie and deedee

ate a cookie instead of his cake

Happy Birthday sweet man! Mommy and Daddy love you!

Shoes!

Well this weekend I finally lost the battle with shoes. I did not want to buy him any shoes til he could at least walk. He is really close to walking and Nate really wanted him to have shoes. I came home from a shower on Saturday and drove up to seeing Whit walking down the sidewalk in socks. I guess that was it!

So we headed to Sikes to get some keds! Whit apparently has wide feet :) and they told me that the velcro would work best. Ha! Not happening so luckily the lady helping us put him in a little bigger size and we got some shoes to fit! I just feel like he is still too little for shoes. If it was summer I think I could have made it a while longer but oh well! I must admit they are pretty cute :)

My new shoes!

Lots of pictures from the weekend. Walking everywhere at Cookie and Docs house!

so cute but one more pair of shoes to put up at night
