5 months

Well here we are at 5 months! This has been a fun age. He is rolling around all over the place. He wants to grab everything and put it in his mouth.  He loves his feet. He loves all food. Carrots, sweet potatos, pears, bananas, and peas! I really think he would eat all the time if i let him. His hair is all growing back in and it just cracks me up. He has a funny cow lick and just fuzzy hair. He smiles and laughs a lot and will give a good belly laugh too. Of couse we always get the hiccups when we even think about laughing! I am pretty sure we put on like 2 lbs this month too, i love the extra rolls though :) The only thing that has been bad about this month is sleep. For some reason he thinks its fun to not sleep all the way through the night. He wakes up a few times a night just needing some love. He sleeps on his tummy now(dont tell anyone) with his hiney stuck up in the air. He can roll back and forth but sometimes he just can't get comfortable. I would love my full night of sleep again though  :(  Trying to get a 5 month picture was hilarious!

Finally got one!!

"Its Friday, but Sunday's Coming"

This post may be a little long so stick with me please :) We had a wonderful Easter weekend. I was worn out by Sunday night but it was so nice to enjoy family! The weekend started Thursday night. Harper Kate has not made her "debut" in Birmingham yet so mom had dinner for a bunch of people Thursday night so everyone could meet her! I had not seen her since she was born and I wanted to hold that little thing! She was so precious and I wish we could have spent more time with her.

Since we were all over at Cookie and Doc's house to meet HK late in the evening Whit and I spent the night! It was the easiest thing to do and was fun since all the sisters were there!

Whit in Doc's chair watching Sesame Street (really we looked over and this was how he was sitting)

Friday we all hung out and just shopped around. Saturday we went to breakfast at my grandparents house. Sorry no pictures from that! Whit and I played with Aunt Mae Mae and Kitty the rest of the day. Saturday night the Easter bunny stayed up to finish up the basket for Whit's first Easter!

Easter was a beautiful day!! We had a good morning. whit got his basket and we had sugar cake that is a tradition in my family.

We went to 8:30 church and Whit did pretty good. He wore the babette that Cookie made for him to wear home from the hospital. It was precious!

only family photo of the day- Whit was so sleepy
going to Easter lunch

After church we had Easter at my aunt and uncles house. It was wonderful! We had a great Easter weekend! I cant forget to tell you about the title of this post....
Tim is an incredible pastor and I am so thankful to walk out of church knowing that the Lord was present each week. Sunday was no exception. I know this is not original to him and many of you may have heard it but i want to look back on this post and remember this so that is why I titled the post this. He read the "sermon" from Dr. Tony Campello. I am not sure when it was exactly but here is a link to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcbKWT10z34

It was very powerful and i will always remember it. The lyrics are posted below.

It’s Friday. Jesus is arrested in the garden where He was praying. But Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. The disciples are hiding and Peter’s denying that he knows the Lord. But Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. Jesus is standing before the high priest of Israel, silent as a lamb before the slaughter. But Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. Jesus is beaten, mocked, and spit upon. But Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. Those Roman soldiers are flogging our Lord with a leather scourge that has bits of bones and glass and metal, tearing at his flesh. But Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. The Son of man stands firm as they press the crown of thorns down into his brow. But Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. See Him walking to Calvary, the blood dripping from His body. See the cross crashing down on His back as He stumbles beneath the load. It’s Friday; but Sunday’s a coming.
It’s Friday. See those Roman soldiers driving the nails into the feet and hands of my Lord. Hear my Jesus cry, “Father, forgive them.” It’s Friday; but Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. Jesus is hanging on the cross, bloody and dying. But Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. The sky grows dark, the earth begins to tremble, and He who knew no sin became sin for us. Holy God who will not abide with sin pours out His wrath on that perfect sacrificial lamb who cries out, “My God, My God. Why hast thou forsaken me?” What a horrible cry. But Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. And at the moment of Jesus’ death, the veil of the Temple that separates sinful man from Holy God was torn from the top to the bottom because Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. Jesus is hanging on the cross, heaven is weeping and hell is partying. But that’s because it’s Friday, and they don’t know it, but Sunday’s a coming…”

Thank you Lord that Sunday is Here!!

Sorry for the long post!!

Joy

This morning when i got out of the shower my heart was full of joy. i heard my husband kissing my babys head and quietly talking to him. i walked in my room and there were my boys in the bed with the lights out just hanging out. (dont get me wrong, nate was not a happy camper to have been woken up early) nothing can fill my heart more than the love i felt at that moment.  i said a quick prayer to thank the lord for my precious family  "my cup runneth over" (ps 23:5)

Friends

Whit has finally found Annabelle. It is hilarious. Obviously Annabelle has known Whit has been here for a while now.... she is neglected and feels left out. But Whit just realized he has a new friend! Anytime Annabelle walks by he reaches out to her and he wants to pull on her ears. He follows her every move. Of course Annabelle loves to give kisses! I think Annabelle might be coming around to this new person in the house finally. All it takes is a little attention. One day she is going to be begging us to take her away from this crazy boy!

Golf

Golf is a big part of our household. Nate loves it and cannot wait to teach whit how to play. It was only appropriate for us to join him on the course for the first time on one of golfs most important days.... Masters Sunday. Nate was at the masters on Wednesday for the par 3. I love seeing those kids with their daddys having fun at Augusta. We had a great day with daddy on the course yesterday too! I know there will be many days where my boys leave me and head for the greens. For now we will all enjoy it!

Waiting for daddy to hit his shot

Happy family at the golf course.... whit was ready for naptime!

food

after our visit to the doctor last week we decided to start some food! whit has been eating rice cereal since 6 weeks old in his bottle so i didn't feel like we had to really focus on that. we had been trying a little in a bowl just to get used to the spoon but we were waiting for bigger and better things. my mom gave me a great cookbook so i want to try to make his food. i would highly recommend this book.

so we decided to start with avocado. i know that is a random food to start with because i would have never even thought to try it except it was in the book. but it was easy to grab at the store and all you do is smash with a fork and mix with a little breast milk. anyway.... the first few bites we had a funny face and were not too sure about it but then he decided it was yummy!! i am happy that he likes something green!

i am trying not to introduce "sweet" foods yet so now we are on to peas! i made some splats yesterday and stuck in the freezer. these are so convenient bc once they freeze you just throw them all in a freezer bag and pull one out when you need it. i hope he likes more green things....

4 months

Here we are at 4 months old! Whit is doing great. He is eating 4 8 oz bottles every day and sometimes a few additional ounces. We are going to start food now once a day. I think he is going to love it! He is still sleeping pretty good. He now wakes up about 2 every night for some reason but i usually have to put the paci in. For some reason he is not a deep sleeper and I feel like he is restless. There have been a few more rough nights than in the past month but overall he is so good so I am not complaining. I am sure he is just going through some changes. He has extremely sensitive skin so we only bathe every other night now. It has helped his exema a lot. This means we usually start eating dinner at 6:30 so I can't complain about his sleep. We are still not a great napper. He is just spoiled by all and wants to be held so this is how he prefers his naps :)
He talks all the time now and loves to hear his voice. He is so happy and loves to play. He now uses both hands to grab at things and will look at something and reach for it. We still love to be outside and walk. But sometimes we dont want to get in the carseat to go walking so that can be a bit of an issue. We love our little 4 month old!

4 months- 14 lbs, 10 oz  25 1/2 in
*** must add in here for my memory- we just had our first sickness. Whit was really puny all day Sunday and Monday. He ran fever, had a stuffy nose(no snot though), sneezing a lot, and a very congested cough. All of this led to not a lot of sleep for baby or mommy. I did get to be mommy and stay home with him on Monday though :) my most favorite and important job of all!
