My Weekend

Over the weekend I got to enjoy the sun, the lake, great conversations and most of all great girls. Nat was sweet to let us have a girls weekend at her lake house. It could not have been a more perfect weekend. The weather was incredible. I was thankful that Nate was willing to keep whit too! this mommy needed some time alone! More on Nates weekend later :) The weekend was perfect and i loved the fact that people came and went as their schedules allowed. We started out with these 5 then Leighton joined us for the evening.



By Saturday around lunch we had a dock full of girls, magazines, some beer and sun!

It was a wonderful weekend and I feel rejuvenated after my time away from the hustle and bustle of life at home.



Thank you Nat for an awesome weekend! I cannot wait for the next trip!!







Professionals are so much better

Warmer Days...

We love this warm weather and it makes me so excited about the warm days to come with little man. He loves being outside so it looks like we will have a fun summer ahead!



The girls have a scare

Yesterday afternoon was almost a disaster. I am about to take dinner to friends but before i can go i needed to pump. So i go to pump and i quickly realize i have problem, the pump is broken! this is no small problem, this is a complete disaster. i just decided to go take the dinner then i would solve my huge problem. i get in the car, call meg and tell her i am so sorry that i broke her pump. she of course is laughing bc she is not worried about it at all and i am in a panic :) of course the hospital lactation places are closed bc it is sunday so i couldn't run go rent one. so i decide the only thing is to just go buy a new one. well $300 was  not on my plate to spend yesterday so i was furious. on my way to get a coupon meg told me that i can order this new part! only $8 for the broken part. so i am thrilled with this discovery except we realize medela is closed on sundays too. in the mean time one side of the pump works, thankfully, so it just takes about 40 min to accomplish this task. but i will just suffer a few days for the sake of $300! i get home and the girls are finally relieved after way too long!  so as i sit here typing, on monday morning, i am waiting for someone to call me regarding the order i need to place so i can get back to work. just had to remember this in the future bc it was a major panic moment in my life as a mom!

*** UPDATE: I just got off the phone with medela and they are sending this to me overnight FREE of charge! Great customer service! So my $300 panic went to $0!!

my growth so far

Just to catch up real quick I will post his "growing" pictures.

1 week old- 7 lbs 9 oz

1 month picture- 9 lbs 8oz  21 3/4 in

2 months- 11 lbs 13 oz  23 1/ in

3 months- we go to the doc next month so no clue on weight or height!

3 months

i cannot believe whit is already 3 months old. it does seem like he was never a tiny baby but then again i feel like he has always been in our family and i can't remember what it was like before him. he is growing so much and is interested in so many things. he loves to play on his playmat now. he talks and laughs while he is on it. on saturday i was playing with him and he all of a sudden decided he would roll over! he made it to his side then wasn't sure what to do, but he figured it out all by himself and made it all the way to his belly. then he spit up and his face fell straight in it :)

strolling is for sure our favorite hobby. he is all boy and loves being in the fresh air.he is happy and smiles at us all the time. now if we could get him to not fight naps then we would be in good shape! i love my happy and very talkative 3 month old!

our first cousin

whit is so lucky because he did not have to wait long to gain a cousin! harper kate pardue was born on february 11th. We had a shower for courtney and harper kate in january. it was a lot of fun and she got a ton of pink things!!

harper kate is one of the most special babies i know and i am thankful that she is in our family. she was diagnosed early on with some problems and was told she wouldn't make it but this child was prayed for over and over by so many and she has beat the odds week after week. she was born perfect in the eyes of the Lord and i know he has big plans for her life. she has touched so many people already and i cannot wait to see what is in store for the rest of her life. i know courtney and jarod are the perfect fit for her because already they have handled this curve ball way better than i could have.
whit has not had the opportunity to meet her but i am anxious for these little ones to play together. i know there will be fun holidays, trips and playing at cookie and docs!
we continue to pray for her and love this little child more than anything. love you harper kate!!!
