Pure Joy

I got out the sprinkler yesterday for Whit to play in and the only word that kept coming to my mind while watching him was joy! He was grinning ear to ear, screaming out of excitement and running with happiness. It made my heart full to see such a little thing bring so much joy to him. He kept running over to my after he would get out of the sprinkler and give me the biggest hug with the biggest grin. It was such a fun hot afternoon activity and I am sure you will see us playing in the sprinkler a lot more this summer! Maybe I can figure out how to download a video on here so you can hear his squealing!

Whit got a lawn mower for Easter so this weekend when daddy started mowing Whit was dying to help! He loves the lawn mower and can even say the word!



Quick Weekend Trip

Whit and I ventured to the beach this weekend. Daddy was going fishing so we got Cookie to join us at the beach. We had a great time. It was so funny watching Whit bc he was too young to remember the beach from last year so everything was new. He is not a fan of the sand but he enjoyed watching the waves come up and down. He loved splashing in the water and running in the little pools the waves left on the beach. I think when we go back this summer he will enjoy it even more. We enjoyed dinner out on the bay so Whit loved looking at all the boats. I am so thankful that my mom was able to come. She is so much help with Whit and I am thankful to have her around all the time. Whit loves Cookie and it made everything more fun! Overall it was a great weekend at the beach and I am looking forward to our trip this summer! Lots of pictures below....

Easter 2012

We had such a great Easter weekend! Friday Whit and I had the day off so we played all day. We had such a great day and I enjoyed every bit of my day with him! We got up and ran then we went to the zoo with Paige and Sam! We played at home in the afternoon and went on wagon rides. He is such a fun age right now. Saturday we played with my family. It is fun when everyone is home and we all get to just hang out. Easter started out perfect in my eyes bc my little man actually let me read him the whole Easter story from his little Bible. It was so special bc he is very particular about which books he reads. Church was wonderful and I love seeing families all dressed in their best. I am beyond grateful for our church and how blessed we are with such an incredible pastor. Lunch with lots of family followed by the Masters! What a wonderful Easter we had!!

16 months

Whit is now 16 months old! I feel like this month flew by! I feel like it is hard to write these posts sometimes bc I can't pin point the things he is doing or saying exactly but I know he is changing so much daily!
I think the biggest changes I see is in his vocabulary(if thats what you call it) He completely understands us and is talking all the time. I know a lot of the time what he is saying but sometimes I just laugh bc he is trying so hard to tell me and I just cannot figure it out. But he is talking so much more than he was. He says bye all the time and waves. It cracks me up bc he usually does it after the fact but at least he is still acknowledging someone leaving or he is leaving. He also usually just says bye and waves not bye bye. He knows what he wants these days which is kinda nice. His "no" is so sweet and he kinda sings it when he says it. I am praying it stays sweet for a while before it turns into a mean "NO". He will tell me when he doesnt want anything to eat or drink. He is still not doing well on his eating but I think he does better at school so I am not going to worry. It helps when he sees all the other kids eating the same thing. So his big meal is really at lunch time when they try the school lunch on him. I am shocked at the things he will eat at school. At dinner I try and put at least one new thing on the plate but he will never eat it. So we still really just eat hummus, peas, applesauce, yogurt, pears and apples.
He sleeps great at night. He has taken some long naps at school too. He will never do it at home but at this point I am so used to a short nap that I really do not know what to do if he makes it beyond 45 min.
He is getting 2 huge molars on his left side. He just chews his fingers but it really has not made him as fussy as I would have thought. I think the right side is there too but they just have not broken skin yet.
Right now he loves swinging, playing with his golf clubs, walking outside, reading at bedtime, playing with daddy and just being a boy!

OUTSIDE

Well I realized that my summer wardrobe will only be shorts and t-shirts. We will be spending all hours outside bc this little boy of mine is just that... all BOY! He is only happy outside and boy did he love this weekend. Saturday we went to play golf with daddy, came home and were outside until it was time for dinner. Daddy and jimbo pressure washed our house so we sat and played in the yard with deedee all afternoon. Sunday daddy mowed the grass and that was extremely entertaining to little man. He wanted to be right beside daddy the whole time! So it looks like we will be needing lots of sunscreen this spring/summer bc this family is going to be outside!

Farm Weekend

We headed back down to the farm this weekend and I must say it was perfect! This was the first trip down where Whit could walk. I laugh because I could not pack for this boy for the farm. He grew out of his overalls and we need to get more. He doesn't have clothes to wear at the farm! He was absolutely in heaven. I have never seen a happier boy. He went and stood at the door to go outside from the time he woke up until bedtime. I cannot tell you how many time I looked at him and thought how lucky we are to have a place like this for a boy to be a boy. He loved everything about the weekend and was so sad when it was time to go home. He is already following in his daddys footsteps of procrastinating on Sunday afternoon when it is time to leave.  He played hard, slept hard and ate a ton. What more could a boy ask for! The weather was perfect! Thank you Lord for your beautiful creation that we can surround ourselves with and enjoy!
