Happy Thanksgiving
I think the older I get the more I love holidays! I cannot wait to enjoy Thanksgiving tonight with my whole family and join Nate's family tomorrow at the farm. We are so blessed! I am thankful for my Whit and my husband who loves me no matter what. I am thankful for our families who would do anything for us. I am thankful for my friends who are there for me when I need them. There are so many things in my life I am thankful for but most of all I am thankful for the Lord who has given me all these things to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving from the Andersons!

12 months
I can't believe its finally here! A year has passed and what a wonderful year it has been. What did we do without our little man. He brings more laughter and joy to our home than I ever thought was possible. His personality is all his and I love it. He is shy and reserved. He wants to figure things out but contemplates before he does something. He laughs and smiles a lot at home. He doesn't talk a whole lot but is starting to more. He is not a fan of strangers and holds on tight when we meet an unfamiliar face. My heart melts when his squinty blue eyes look at me and smile. He looks like his daddy and that brings a smile to my face. He is exactly who the Lord knew he would be and for that I am thankful. Please remind me of that in the coming years when there will be moments when he could be the end of me!
At 12 months we are wearing 18 month clothes. He is built thick and solid just like Nate. He sleeps great at night still. 2 naps a day but they are still short. Whit, you are not a napper! He still loves to push everything. He is getting stronger and walks behind things with more balance but still not walking on his own. He LOVES books. His favorites are Where's Spot and Where's Babys Belly Button. He really just likes any book that he can lift flaps on or feel something. He loves walking up and down the sidewalk outside pushing his toy. He does not like when you turn him around to go back home. He loves the wagon still and doing anything outside. He hates being changed, getting in his car seat, putting on his shoes and coming back in from outside.
As far as food goes we are still struggling. He will only eat bananas, pears, apple cubes, mandrin oranges, apple sauce and sometimes cheese. I still have to give him baby food vegetables just to get something else in him. For breakfast we still mix oatmeal with a baby food fruit. I tried to give him real oatmeal and he threw it up. He will not try new foods no matter how hard we try. He is very stubborn about food and has a melt down if you make him eat something he does not want. I am praying we will get past this stage. He does not like sippy cups and we are still struggling with that too. I have every kind possible and he just does not like it. So we still drink 3 bottles of whole milk a day.
Happy Birthday Whit! I cannot believe you are one but I am thankful for every day of your life. You are a blessing and a joy to raise. I pray you will grow into a godly man daily and that you will come to know the Lord at a young age. We love you so much!!

First Birthday Party!
We had Whits first birthday party yesterday! His real birthday is tomorrow but we are always going to battle Thanksgiving so we will have it before probably every year. Whit was not feeling 100% yesterday but he did pretty good considering he does not love to be around lots of people. Thankfully we had plenty of grandparents to entertain him. I cannot believe he is one! We love him so much and we are blessed to be surrounded by people who love him too. Thank you for coming to Whits party!

Shoes!
Well this weekend I finally lost the battle with shoes. I did not want to buy him any shoes til he could at least walk. He is really close to walking and Nate really wanted him to have shoes. I came home from a shower on Saturday and drove up to seeing Whit walking down the sidewalk in socks. I guess that was it!
So we headed to Sikes to get some keds! Whit apparently has wide feet :) and they told me that the velcro would work best. Ha! Not happening so luckily the lady helping us put him in a little bigger size and we got some shoes to fit! I just feel like he is still too little for shoes. If it was summer I think I could have made it a while longer but oh well! I must admit they are pretty cute :)

weekend
Over the weekend Nate and I were finally able to get away for the first time in over a year by ourselves! We went to Highlands to enjoy the fall weather and it was great! We ate yummy food, hiked and just enjoyed relaxing. Of course my camera was dead(whats new) so I do not have one picture. Whit got to stay Friday night with Cookie and Doc and Saturday night with Deedee and Jimbo. Needless to say he was not unloved one single bit. He had so much fun playing all weekend and was exhausted when we got home Sunday! We are so thankful to have both of our parents in town and that they are willing to always help out with him. It was a great weekend but we missed our little buddy so much!
On another note we stopped in Atlanta on our way back to see Harper Kate be dedicated. It was a special time for everyone. It was such a great reminder to me that we are all here for a purpose and the Lord knows exactly what it is. Sweet girl should not even be here but she is and I cannot wait to see her great purpose played out for us to see! She is amazing and I was happy to be a part of the day to dedicate her back to the Lord who has shown us HIS hand through her life.

First Halloween
We had a happy first halloween!! Whit didn't care at all that he had his costume on ALL day. At school in the morning they went trick or treating room to room and then had his party in the afternoon. It was so cute to see them having their "party" in their highchairs. Then we went trick or treating to end the night! It was a festive day and our little tiger slept so good last night after a long fun day!
